Forge: Build Decks and Prototypes
Overview
Forge is where Torki builds visual work from a sentence: slide decks and interactive prototypes such as web pages, dashboards and app screens. Each thing you build is a project you can reopen, refine, edit and export. Forge carries a BETA badge in the sidebar.
Decks you ask for in chat are Forge projects too, so they are listed here as well — see Making slide decks in chat.
What it needs
Available on every plan, including Free. A Free account holds up to 5 Forge projects in total; delete one to make room for another. Lite includes 20 Forge builds in a rolling 5-hour window, Arc 60 and Zenith 200.
Get started
1. Open Forge
Click Forge in the sidebar. The page asks "What do you want to build?" above a composer box, with your recent projects underneath.
2. Choose what to build
Pick a type on the composer's bottom row:
- Slide Deck — two more chips appear: the slide count (3 to 20, with one-click choices from 3 to 20) and the style: Modern dark, Executive, Clean minimal, Warm, Bold pitch or Editorial.
- Prototype — a fidelity chip appears: Wireframe for a rough layout, or High fidelity for finished colours and typography.
- Document is marked Soon and cannot be built yet.
Suggestion chips above the box, such as Investor pitch or Landing page, fill in an example to start from. Add brief details ("Optional — sharper output") adds four short fields: Audience, Tone, Brand and Scale.
3. Describe it and build
Describe it in a sentence and click Build, or press Ctrl + Enter (Cmd + Enter on Mac). The project opens and Torki builds it; a deck shows "Building slide 3 of 8" while it works, and the bar at the bottom reads "Building your deck — keep working elsewhere".
4. Refine it
Click a slide (or a design) to select it. Then click into the bar at the bottom, or press T. For a deck, a switch above the bar lets you choose This slide or Entire deck. Describe the change and send.
With nothing selected, a change rebuilds the whole deck. The This slide / Entire deck switch only appears once a slide is selected. Click the slide you mean first, and check the switch says This slide.
With a slide selected, a rail of buttons appears at the right edge: Comment, Reorder, Notes, Duplicate, Open in new tab and Delete. Reorder lets you drag the slides into a new order; click Save order to keep it. Notes opens the slide's speaker notes.
5. Edit slides by hand
On a deck, click Edit slides in the header to open the slide editor, where you change text, images, shapes, the theme and notes directly — see Editing slides.
6. Present or export
The play button in the header presents a deck full screen. Export opens "Export design":
- PDF — "Printable 16:9 deck": one page per slide, with selectable text and your images.
- PPTX — "PowerPoint / Keynote": editable text and your speaker notes.
- HTML — "Opens in any browser": a single file that works offline.
- Images — "PNG zip (coming soon)"; not available yet.
Set the Filename if you like — slides are 1280 × 720 — and click Download. A message confirms "Downloaded" with the file name. For a prototype, the working export is HTML, as a standalone .html file; the other formats are marked Soon.
Managing projects
The Forge start page lists your projects with a search box ("Search projects, designs…") and a sort menu (Last opened, Recently created, Name A → Z, Most designs). View all → opens the full list. Each project's menu offers Rename, Open in new tab and Delete.
Deleting a project deletes it for good, including a deck that was made in chat — its card in the chat can no longer show it.
Keyboard shortcuts
Use Ctrl on Windows and Linux, Cmd on a Mac. Letter shortcuts work when you are not typing in a box.
- Ctrl + Enter — Build, on the start page
- T — jump to the bar at the bottom of a project
- C — Comment, with a slide or design selected
- R — Reorder, with a slide selected
- N — Notes, with a slide selected
- Esc — close Comment, Reorder or Notes
- Ctrl + 0 — fit to view
- Ctrl + 1 — actual size
- Ctrl + 2 — zoom to selection
- Ctrl + / — show Forge's shortcut list
Forge's own shortcut list also shows some keys that are planned or do not work yet, such as Draw, Present and the [ and ] panel toggles. The keys above are the ones that work.

FAQ
Can other people see my projects?
Not by default. The start page says "Only you can see your project by default".
Where are the decks I made in chat?
On the Forge start page, with your other projects.
I'm on Free and can't create a project.
You have 5 Forge projects already. Delete one you no longer need, or upgrade.
Can I build a document in Forge?
Not yet — Document is marked Soon. For a written document, ask in the chat instead; see Saving answers as documents and spreadsheets.
Can I pick a design system?
Not yet. The design-system chip on the composer says design systems are coming soon.
