Memory
Overview
Memory lets Torki remember details about you across conversations — your name, what you work on, the tools you use, how you like answers written — so you do not have to say it again every time.
How it works
- You mention something durable in a conversation.
- Torki saves it as a memory.
- Every later conversation is given your memories as context.
- You review or delete them in Settings → Memory.
What it needs
Memory is available on every plan, including Free.
Arc and Zenith add cross-chat recall on top of it: as well as your saved memories, Torki can draw on what you discussed in earlier conversations.
Get started
1. Tell Torki something worth keeping
"I'm a React developer", "I prefer short answers", "my team uses Postgres". Torki saves the kind of fact that will still be true next week.
2. Check what it saved
Everything Torki has saved is listed in Settings → Memory.
3. Remove anything you do not want
Delete a single memory with the red bin icon on its right. To remove everything, use the Clear all memories link below the list — it only appears once you have at least one memory — and confirm in the "Clear all memories?" dialog.
Good to know
The Memory toggle at the top of that page does not do anything. Clicking it changes only its own colour; nothing is saved and it is back on after a refresh. The way to stop Torki using something is to delete that memory.
A Private chat is kept out of your history — but something you mention there can still be saved as a memory. Check Settings → Memory if you want to be sure.
Torki only creates memories from information you share naturally in conversation. It does not access external data or make assumptions beyond what you tell it.
FAQ
Can I turn memory off?
There is no working switch. Delete the memories you do not want, or clear them all.
Why does Torki know something I said in a private chat?
Private keeps the conversation out of your history, not out of Memory. Delete the memory from Settings → Memory.
What is the difference between Memory and cross-chat recall?
Memory is the short list of facts on your Memory page, and every plan has it. Cross-chat recall lets Torki draw on your earlier conversations themselves, and needs Arc or Zenith.
Does deleting a chat delete its memories?
No. Memories are stored separately — remove them from Settings → Memory.
