Keyboard Shortcuts
Overview
These are the keyboard shortcuts that work in Torki on the web. Use Ctrl on Windows and Linux and Cmd on a Mac.

Press Shift + K when you are not typing in a box, or click your profile at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Shortcuts. The dialog is headed "Key Shortcuts".
That dialog is out of date. It labels Ctrl + P "New Project", but the key opens the Projects page. Open Attach, Focus input, Next message and Prev message do nothing, and most browsers keep Ctrl + N and Ctrl + T for a new window and a new tab. This page lists what actually works.
Anywhere in the app
- Ctrl + K (Cmd + K) — search your chats. Ctrl + S does the same.
- Ctrl + Shift + S — open Settings
- Ctrl + P — open the Projects page
- Ctrl + L — switch to the light theme
- Ctrl + D — switch to the dark theme
- Ctrl + F — open Send Feedback
- Shift + K — show the shortcuts dialog
- Esc — close search, the shortcuts dialog, a chat's ⋯ menu, the Rename and Delete dialogs, or the sidebar on a phone
Because Torki uses Ctrl + F, Ctrl + P, Ctrl + D and Ctrl + L, those keys do not open your browser's Find, Print, Bookmark or address bar while you are in the app. Use the browser's menu for those.
To start a new chat, click New Chat at the top of the sidebar. The sidebar shows Ctrl + N beside it, but most browsers keep that key for opening a new window.
In the message box
- Enter — send your message
- Shift + Enter — new line without sending
- / at the start of an empty message — open the Skills list (see Skills)
- Ctrl + V — paste an image as an attachment
In search
- ↑ ↓ — move through the results
- Enter — open the highlighted chat
- Ctrl + E (Cmd + E) — show or hide the conversation preview
- Esc — close search
Canvas
- Ctrl + Z — undo a change in the canvas
- Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y — redo
- Esc — close the Download menu
Escape does not close the Canvas or the Sources panel; use their own × buttons. The Canvas close button shows an "Esc" hint, but that key is not wired up.
Slide editor
- Ctrl + Z — undo; Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y — redo
- Ctrl + S — save now
- ↑ ↓, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End — move between slides
- Enter — edit the selected text; Esc — finish
- Arrow keys — nudge the selected element; with Shift, further
- Delete — remove the selected element
- Ctrl + D — duplicate it; Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V — copy and paste it
The full list, including the filmstrip keys, is in Editing slides. While you work in the editor, the app-wide shortcuts above are switched off.
Forge
- Ctrl + Enter — Build, on the Forge start page
- T — jump to the bar at the bottom of a project
- C, R, N — Comment, Reorder and Notes, with a slide selected
- Ctrl + 0, Ctrl + 1, Ctrl + 2 — fit to view, actual size, zoom to selection
- Ctrl + / — show Forge's own shortcut list

FAQ
Escape did not close the Canvas.
It is not bound. Use the × in the Canvas panel header.
Is there a shortcut for a new chat?
Not one that browsers reliably let through. Use the New Chat button in the sidebar.
Why doesn't Ctrl + F find text on the page?
In the app, Ctrl + F opens Send Feedback. Use your browser's menu to find text on the page.
Shift + K typed a capital K instead of opening the list.
It only opens the list when you are not typing in a box. Click outside the message box first.
