API Privacy, Data and Content Moderation

Overview

This article covers what Torki keeps from your API traffic, how long, and how content moderation applies to API requests.

What Torki keeps

  • Request logs keep metadata only — status, model, tokens, latency, cost and key — for 30 days, on Logs in Torki Platform. Prompts and completions are never stored in logs.
  • Usage and cost figures, by day, model, key and workspace, for the Usage and Cost pages and your billing.
  • Billing details and invoices for the purchases you make.

Torki does not use your content to train its models.

Images and video

Before an image reaches a model, Torki turns it upright, removes its metadata and resizes it. Video is read as a few frames; its sound is not used.

The Playground

Playground history stays in your browser for 30 days. When you share a Playground prompt, the prompt travels inside the link itself; it isn't stored on Torki's servers.

Content moderation

API requests follow Torki's usage policy. Before a request reaches a model, Torki screens:

  • the latest user message,
  • your system and developer messages,
  • every image, and the frames of every video.

A declined request returns 400 content_policy_violation with a short explanation, and it isn't charged. It still counts toward your requests per minute. In a video, a few flagged frames are left out and the rest is answered; if more than half are flagged, the video is refused. If the image screening service can't be reached, the request returns 503 overloaded rather than being let through: retry after a few seconds.

If a clean request was declined, contact support@torkiai.com with the request id. The refusal message doesn't say which rule fired, so the request id is what lets the team look into it.

Keeping your account safe

  • Keep keys secret: never put them in client-side code or a public repository.
  • Give keys an expiry and rotate them; link production keys to a service account.
  • Give members the lowest role that lets them work: a User can only use the Playground.
  • If a key may have leaked, delete it on API keys at once.

FAQ

Does Torki store my prompts?

Not in request logs, which keep metadata only. Torki does not use your content to train its models. Torki's Privacy Policy has the full terms.

Can I turn content moderation off for my organization?

No. There is no setting for it: API requests are screened for every organization.

Why was an image refused?

Content moderation flagged it, and a flagged image is always refused. The request isn't charged.
