Setting Up Passkeys & MFA

Overview

Torki offers two extra sign-in factors: a passkey (your fingerprint, face or device PIN) and an authenticator app.

Torki does not issue recovery codes. Before you turn on two-factor authentication, make sure you have a second way in — read If you lose your authenticator below first.

Passkeys

1. Add one

  1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. Find the Passkeys section and click + Add Passkey
  3. Follow your device's prompt — Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello or a security key

2. What changes at sign-in

From your next login onwards, the passkey becomes a required second step rather than a replacement for your password: you sign in with your email and password as usual, and Torki then asks you to confirm with your fingerprint, face or device PIN.

If the passkey will not work on the device you are on, choose "Use email code instead" on that screen and Torki will email you a one-time code.

If you also have two-factor authentication switched on, the authenticator code takes priority and the passkey prompt is skipped.

Two-factor authentication

1. Turn it on

  1. Go to Settings → Security
  2. Find the Multi-Factor Authentication card and turn on the toggle next to Authenticator App
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or type in the setup key shown under it
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify

2. Turn it off again

Come back to the same card, type a current 6-digit code into the field and click Disable MFA.

If you lose your authenticator

Torki does not issue recovery codes, so set 2FA up carefully. If you lose the device with your authenticator app you will not be able to sign in on your own.

Email support@torkiai.com from the address on the account and our team will verify you and reset the second factor.

Before you turn 2FA on: make sure your authenticator app is included in your phone's cloud backup, or add the same account to a second device.

FAQ

Does a passkey replace my password?

No. It is an additional step after your password.

Can I use both a passkey and an authenticator?

Yes, but the authenticator takes priority and the passkey prompt is skipped.

Where do I get recovery codes?

You cannot. Torki has never issued them — plan a second device or a passkey instead.

How do I remove a passkey?

Settings → Security → Passkeys, the trash icon on its row, then Yes, remove.
