Getting Started with Torki AI
Overview
Torki answers with its own model rather than re-badging another provider's, and nothing you type is used to train it. Your chats are stored on Torki's own systems and are not handed to another AI provider.
Some things do leave by design: when Torki searches the web it sends the query to public search engines and fetches the pages it cites, and if you connect an app such as Google Calendar or Notion, the part of a request that concerns that app is sent to it.
What you can do with Torki
Torki is more than a chatbot.
Chat, in four modes
Pulse ("Quick responses") and Orbit ("Reliable & capable") are available on every plan, including Free. Stellar ("Deep reasoning") and Cosmos ("Maximum depth") are Premium modes and need Lite, Arc or Zenith; on Free they show a padlock in the mode menu and clicking one opens the upgrade screen instead of switching.
Canvas
Build web apps, games and tools with a built-in code editor and live preview. Available on every plan, in beta.
Voice Companions
Have spoken conversations with seven AI personalities. Voice runs in Torki on the web — not in the mobile or Mac apps.
Web Search and Deep Research
Torki decides by itself when a question needs current information, searches the web and shows the pages it used in a Sources panel. That works on every plan.
Deep Research — the multi-step version that breaks a question into sub-queries and reads the pages — is not included on Free and needs Lite, Arc or Zenith.
Toolkit and connectors
Open Toolkit in the sidebar to connect your apps. Google Workspace lets Torki read your calendar, create events, and create Google Docs, Sheets and Slides straight from a chat. Microsoft 365 lets it read your Outlook mail and calendar. GitHub, Notion, Linear, Jira & Confluence, Todoist, Airtable, Box and Sentry connect the same way, and Skills — ready-made playbooks you start by typing / in the message box — live there too.
Torki cannot send Outlook mail or create Outlook events yet. Anything that would write to one of your apps stops first and shows an approval card with Decline, Always allow and Allow once; nothing is written until you allow it. You choose which tools may run without asking in Toolkit → Permissions.
Agents
Open the Agents section in the sidebar and pick one of seven built-in personalities: Torki (Default Assistant), Elli (Creative Writer), Poppy (Business Buddy), Eywa (Code Companion), Kalli (Social Guru), Pooline (Research Pro) and 61 (Support Hero).
Building your own agent is not available yet — the My Agents button shows a coming-soon screen.
Image generation
Create images with the Kvora image engine. Free-plan images carry a small Torki mark.
Projects
Group related chats with shared instructions and knowledge files. Free holds 3.
Get started
1. Find your way around
The main screen is your chat area. On the left, the sidebar holds your chat history, projects, agents and settings. At the bottom sits the message bar.
2. Use the Tools menu
The round + button to the left of the message box (tooltip "Tools") holds everything you can attach or switch on: Add files or photos, Take a screenshot, Research, Create image, Canvas, Guided Learning, Code Analysis and Data Analyst.
There is no Search button. Torki decides on its own when a question needs the web.
3. Pick a mode
Use the mode selector next to the input to switch between Pulse, Orbit, Stellar and Cosmos at any time. The change applies to your next message.
FAQ
Do I need to pay to try it?
No. The Free plan gives you Pulse and Orbit, voice, images, Canvas, web search, three projects and file uploads, with no card required.
Is my conversation used to train Torki?
No. Torki's models are trained before release and are not updated from your use of the service.
Where do I change my settings?
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings, or press Ctrl + Shift + S.
