Usage Limits & How They Work
Overview
Each plan has a fixed allowance per category, and the Usage tab draws it as a percentage so you can see how much is left at a glance. The exact count is printed under each beaker as used/limit.
How it works
- You use Torki; each message, image or research run debits its category.
- All categories run on a rolling 5-hour window.
- Your allowance refills as your oldest usage ages out.
- If you run out, that category pauses until the window moves — you are never charged extra.
The four categories
- All models — every message you send, in any mode. This is the main meter, and a spoken turn in voice mode counts here too; there is no separate voice allowance.
- Premium models (Stellar & Cosmos) — a view of the same message allowance filtered to your Stellar and Cosmos turns, so you can see how much of it the heavier modes are taking. Locked on Free.
- Images — creating images with Torki's Kvora engine.
- Deep research — multi-query analysis. Locked on Free.
Shadow has its own allowance but no beaker — it is not shown on the Usage page at all.
Get started
1. Open Settings → Usage
You will see glass beakers showing your current usage for each category. As you use Torki, the beakers fill up. The most active category glows with animated bubbles so you can quickly see where most of your usage is going.
2. Read the Current session bar
The bar at the top shows whichever category you are closest to the limit on, along with the soonest reset, so you can see at a glance whether anything is about to run out.
3. Wait, or upgrade
Each beaker shows a live countdown to its next reset once you have used something in that category.
Good to know
Limits use a rolling 5-hour window, not a daily reset at midnight. Your allowance refills gradually as your oldest usage ages out, rather than all at once at a fixed time of day.
When you approach a limit, Torki lets you know. You can either wait for the window to move or upgrade for more room. Limits simply pause that category; nothing is charged on top of your plan.
Each plan tier comes with progressively more generous limits across all categories. If you frequently hit your limits, upgrading gives you significantly more capacity — see Subscription Plans.
FAQ
When exactly do my limits reset?
There is no fixed time. The window rolls, so usage from five hours ago frees up now.
Why is there no voice meter?
Voice turns count under "All models" — there is no separate voice allowance.
Where do I see my Shadow runs?
Nowhere today. Shadow is metered but not shown on the Usage page.
Will I ever be charged for going over?
No. The category pauses instead.
