This one works on Free. "Connect Google Workspace" is listed in what a Free account gets and is a tick on every plan, so the account you create from this page can do every step below. Microsoft 365 is a separate card on the same tab, and that one starts at Lite.

Torki can put a real file on your Google Drive from inside a chat — a spreadsheet with your columns filled in, or a document with your writing in it. It stops and asks before it writes, so nothing is sent to Google until you press a button. This is creation only: Torki makes new files, it does not touch the ones you already have.

How it works, step by step

Connect Google Workspace

Open Settings and pick Connectors, then find the Google Workspace card. Press Connect on either the Google Sheets row (Create & populate spreadsheets) or the Google Drive row (Create & manage files) — the button reads Connecting... and Google's own consent screen opens for you to sign in and approve. Either row is enough for both sheets and docs.

Ask for it by name

In a normal chat, send a message that names the service and asks for the file — make me a Google Sheet tracking Q4 launch tasks with Date, Task, Owner, Status, or save this to Google Docs as 'Weekly Review'. Naming the service is what starts this; a request for a tracker or a table does not.

Approve the card

Torki stops before writing anything and puts a compact card in the thread headed Approve to continue. For a sheet it reads Create spreadsheet over the line create the Google Sheet “Q4 Launch Tracker”; for a doc it reads Save to Google Docs over save “Weekly Review” to Google Docs. Press Approve — or turn it down with Decline on a sheet and Not now on a doc, which costs you nothing because nothing has run yet.

Open the file on your Drive

The approval card is replaced by one titled Google Sheets — Q4 Launch Tracker or Google Docs — Weekly Review, with an Open in Sheets or Open in Docs button that opens the real file in a new tab. Torki creates the sheet and fills in your columns, and writes doc content in as native formatting — Heading 1 through Heading 6, bold and italic, bulleted and numbered lists, and real table grids rather than raw markdown. The frame inside the card cannot use your Google session, so it is not a preview of your file: the button is the way in.

Disconnect when you want to

Go back to Settings, pick Connectors, and press Disconnect on the row. A dialog titled Disconnect Google Sheets? asks first, over the line This will revoke access and remove stored credentials. You can reconnect anytime.

Before you start

The things people hit on their first try, so you do not have to find them the hard way.

  • It creates files, it does not open them

    Torki makes new sheets and docs. It cannot open, read or edit a sheet or doc you already have, and when it searches your Drive it finds only the files it created itself — the permission it asks Google for covers nothing else. There is no way yet to point it at a file you already had, so treat this as creation only.

  • The words are the trigger

    Your message has to name it — Google Sheet or spreadsheet, or Google Doc / Google Docs — and ask for the file to be made or saved there. Make me a tracker with Date, Task, Owner, Status, put this in a table and write me a memo create nothing, deliberately, so asking for a comparison table never puts a file on your Drive. Only the message you are sending right now is checked, so naming the service a few turns earlier does not carry forward.

  • Normal chat, one file per message

    With the Canvas or Research tool selected in the composer, or on a turn that makes an image, the request is ignored: no approval card and no file. And a single message creates a single file, so a sheet and a doc take two messages.

  • Check that the content landed

    The file is created first and your content written into it afterwards, and the second part is best-effort. You can end up with the sheet or the doc on your Drive and the contents missing, so open it once from the card and look.
